Fried Mahi-Mahi Japanese Style

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces mahi-mahi filets or any mild white fish
  • 2 cups vegetable oil or enough to fill the pan 1/4 in ch deep
  • 1-2 Egg for coating
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 cup Panko

Toppings

  • Kewpie Mayonnaise
  • Okonomi Sauce
  • Bonito Flakes

Instructions

  • Cut the fish into 1×3 inch slices.
  • In a small bowl, beat the egg for coating.
  • In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  • Coat the fish in the following order: Egg, flour mix, egg again and panko then then flour.
  • Heat the oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add the coated fish but don’t crowd the pan. Cook for 2 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown. Carefully flip the pieces over with tongs, and cook another 2 minutes or until the other side is golden brown.
  • Drain on paper towels.
  • Top it off with Kewpie mayo, Okonomi Sauce and Bonito flakes.
  • Serve and Enjoy!
